Going through my own struggles as a writer as a musician, I read this article probably a year and half ago.
Since that day, I have been a big fan of Case Keenum. I relate to him. I don’t care about ‘doubters’, but I have had those people who always said “Christoph, you have a special talent do something with it. You have a shot to be a really special artist.”
I write and make music for myself, but in the back of my mind I want to prove these supporters right. I don’t care about people who doubt me. That doesn’t mean anything to me; I know what I am good at, I know my talent, but I want to prove myself and my supporters right.
Case is going to get his day now to make his ‘case’ that he is a starting quality NFL QB.
We will see what happens, but it is reminder that people with big dreams that it doesn’t happen in a day.
Case did not get picked in the draft. He was thought of as too undersized (though an inch taller than Russell Wilson.) But he did not give up; he fought for a roster spot and made his hometown’s team practice squad.
It took him a year and a half, took him proving himself, and waiting it out but his chance has come: this Sunday he starts in a game that could make or break his team’s seasons.
Not sure what he will do, but he will get his chance to prove himself and his supporters that they were right and he is starter and a star.
